WORLD AIDS DAY

The COVID-19 coronavirus and variants have forced HIV/AIDS away from the major health headlines over the past several years. That is one of the major reasons for us to remember that there is no cure for HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.
AIDS is a direct result of HIV infection. We are aware of treatments available that seriously reduce the fatality of AIDS. Following medical advice and care, HIV is now a manageable disease. However, in order to be treated, one must also be tested! The numbers of persons not tested for HIV remains high.
HIV: Basic Facts:
The four body fluids that transmit HIV: blood, semen, vaginal fluid, breast milk.
HIV is not spread by everyday, casual contact.
The use of alcohol and drugs impair safe sexual practices.
Only a health practitioner can diagnose AIDS.
